Wilson’s Wave Founder to Speak at Duke Memorial Baptist Church
On June 22, 2025, the sanctuary of Duke Memorial Baptist Church will be filled with love, remembrance, and purpose as Betsy Moore, Founder of Wilson’s Wave, shares her powerful story and mission with the congregation.
Betsy’s visit is more than just a speaking engagement: it's a deeply personal return to the kind of faith-filled space that helped shape her beloved son, Wilson, into the bright light he was. Raised in a family of deep spiritual roots, Wilson lived his life with a radiant warmth and a smile that touched everyone he met. His devotion to his church was evident, serving faithfully as an Elder before his life was tragically cut short by an accidental fentanyl overdose.
Since Wilson’s passing, Betsy has dedicated her life to turning her grief into momentum. Wilson’s Wave was created to spread awareness about the fentanyl crisis that continues to claim lives across the country, often silently and swiftly. Her mission is rooted in hope, compassion, and truth: to educate communities, support grieving families, and prevent further loss.
Speaking at Duke Memorial Baptist is especially meaningful for Betsy. It reflects Wilson’s journey of faith and underscores the critical role that faith communities can play in combating this epidemic. Churches are not only a spiritual home. They are places of healing, unity, and outreach. Betsy believes that if more congregations join the wave of awareness, countless lives can be saved.
Her message will not only honor Wilson’s legacy but also serve as a call to action: to listen, to learn, and to love more intentionally in a time when so many families are quietly suffering.
Attendees can expect an emotional yet empowering address, filled with heartfelt memories and a shared commitment to protect others. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, friend, or simply a concerned citizen, this gathering will remind us all of the importance of staying informed and staying connected.
Join us as we reflect, remember, and rise up, with faith at the heart of the wave.
