Wilson’s Wave Hosts Back-to-School Safety Giveaway with Fentanyl Victims Network of North Carolina

As the new school year approaches, most families are focused on supply lists, lunch boxes, and getting back into a routine. But at Wilson’s Wave, we know that preparing for school is about more than pencils and paper. It’s also about keeping our community safe.

That’s why we’re teaming up with the Fentanyl Victims Network of North Carolina for a special Back to School Life-Saving Bag Giveaway on Saturday, August 23, 2025 in the Rolesville/Wake Forest area. This important event will provide free bags filled with resources and tools that could one day save a life.

Each bag will include:

  • Naloxone, which is a critical medication that can reverse an opioid overdose, including those caused by fentanyl

  • Educational resources about the dangers of fentanyl, signs of overdose, and steps you can take to protect loved ones

  • Wilson’s Wave bracelets and stickers to help spread awareness

The event is completely free while supplies last, and all are welcome to stop by any of the participating local businesses during their regular open hours:

  • Nourish Studios: 101 N White Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587

  • Local Charm Boutique: 211-A Basalt Place, Rolesville, NC 27571

  • Granite Falls Swim and Athletic Club: 800 Granite Falls Boulevard, Rolesville, NC 27571

  • Rolesville Physical Therapy: 418 Southtown Circle, Rolesville, NC 27571

We are deeply grateful to these community-minded businesses for opening their doors and helping us reach more families.

Why This Matters

The fentanyl crisis continues to devastate communities across North Carolina and the nation. Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that can be deadly in extremely small amounts. Tragically, it has been found in counterfeit pills, street drugs, and even substances that users believed were safe. Too often, people, especially young people, are unaware they are taking something containing fentanyl until it’s too late.

By putting Naloxone and educational resources directly into the hands of our neighbors, we hope to prevent overdoses and start conversations that save lives. Awareness is the first step toward prevention.

A Partnership for Change

We are honored to partner with the Fentanyl Victims Network of North Carolina for this initiative. Their mission is to serve fentanyl victim families across the state, focusing on:

  • Public Safety: Advocating for laws and initiatives that keep communities safe

  • Education: Providing accurate information to schools, parents, and the public

  • Justice: Supporting legal action and holding those responsible accountable

  • Advocacy: Speaking up for those affected by this crisis

  • Support: Offering resources and community for grieving families

If you or someone you love has been impacted by the fentanyl crisis, we encourage you to reach out to the Fentanyl Victims Network of North Carolina.
