Join Our Founder, Betsy Moore, at the Upcoming Federal Overdose Training Event

We are proud to announce that Betsy Moore, Founder of Wilson’s Wave, has been invited to speak at the upcoming Federal Overdose Training on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 in Raleigh, NC. This important event will bring together law enforcement, public health professionals, advocates, and community members committed to addressing the overdose crisis with urgency, compassion, and evidence-based solutions.

Betsy will participate in a live Q&A session, where she’ll share her firsthand insights and experiences in the fight against substance use disorder and overdose-related deaths. Known for her fierce advocacy and relentless drive to change the narrative around addiction, Betsy will bring her signature honesty, empathy, and wisdom to the table. This is an opportunity for attendees to hear directly from a changemaker who’s making a real difference in the lives of individuals and families impacted by addiction.

Why You Should Attend

This training will be more than a lecture—it’s a space for collaboration, education, and healing. The daylong event runs from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and will take place at the Wake County Commons (4011 Carya Road, Raleigh, NC 27610). It’s designed for professionals and community members alike who want to better understand the complex dynamics surrounding the overdose epidemic and learn how to respond effectively.

In addition to the Q&A with Betsy Moore, the training will feature expert-led sessions, tools for community engagement, and opportunities to connect with others who are equally committed to preventing overdose deaths and supporting those in recovery.

Seating is limited, and pre-registration is required. All attendees must submit a completed registration form by September 9 to reserve a spot. Continuing Education for Law Enforcement

We’re also pleased to share that the North Carolina Justice Academy will be offering continuing education credits for law enforcement officials who attend. This makes the event a great opportunity for officers to gain valuable training hours while engaging in crucial conversations about harm reduction and public safety.

We hope to see many of you there. This training is a step forward in building bridges between sectors and creating meaningful, community-centered approaches to a crisis that touches us all. If you've ever wanted to hear from Betsy Moore in person or deepen your understanding of overdose prevention and response, this is your chance.

Together, we ride the wave toward awareness, action, and hope.
